Consequences of dehumanization of people living with HIV. Mini-Thesis Project. Compared how participants rated HIV-positive and HIV-negative individuals on the Ascent of Man Blatant Dehumanization Scale and the Mind Perception Scale and how these ratings affect attitudes towards HIV-positive individuals. Conducted at the Social, Perception, and Cognition Lab at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Drs. Jason Deska and Nicholas Rule.
How a mate-seeking motivation affects the social invisibility of smiling Black and White men and women. Presented poster at the Psychology Research Opportunity Forum. Examined the effects of a mate-seeking motivation on diverse racial groups and ages on memory of Black and White opposite-sex faces; this is an ongoing line of research with several different studies. Conducted at the Stigma and Motivation Lab at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Neel.
